Rupert Murdoch’s Aim: A Divorce With Little Fodder for Tabloid

Daniel Jaffe was quoted in a Reuters article, which appeared on numerous news sites including the Chicago Tribune, about News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch’s pending divorce and the fact that he had hired an attorney known for settling divorces quietly. Murdoch is being represented by attorney Ira Garr who is friendly with Pamela Sloan, the attorney representing Murdoch’s estranged wife Wendi Deng Murdoch.

Jaffe, who represented Murdoch’s second wife, Anna, when she divorced Murdoch, told Reuters that he hoped the divorce would be done “as amicably as the last divorce and settlement was done.”

Jaffe said even though there was no pre-nuptial agreement, that divorce was done in less than a year.

“We finished that divorce in 10 to 11 months,”Jaffe said. “We had no court appearances. Everything was disclosed amicably.”
