Daniel Jaffe was quoted in a June 13, 2013 article in The Wrap about media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s impending divorce from his third wife and the fact that many expect divorce negotiations to be drama free.
Jaffe, who represented Murdoch’s ex-wife Anna in divorce proceedings in 1999, told The Wrap that “Rupert handled it like a business negotiation.
“He’s a very smart guy,” he said. “He knew what he wanted to do and he got it done.”
Murdoch was married to his former wife Anna for 31 years and the couple’s divorce was estimated to cost Murdoch between $1.2 and $2 billion. Although Jaffe declined to comment on the terms of the settlement, he said the proceedings were extremely civil and took less than a year.
“If he’s smart he will handle the situation like he handled the divorce from Anna – amicably, with nobody throwing things at each other,” Jaffe said. “It’s in the best interest of all the parties and it’s in the best interest of the kids.”
