Robert Stanley represents high earners and high net worth individuals in complex and sensitive family law matters. Robert is involved in all forms of relationship termination matters, including “traditional” divorces as well as the dissolution of non-marital relationships, domestic partnerships, and same-sex marriages. Robert negotiates and drafts a variety of relationship agreements including cohabitation agreements, pre-partnership agreements, pre-marital agreements, and post-nuptial agreements.
As an authority on the laws concerning same-sex relationships, Robert frequently writes and speaks on the topic. He authored a chapter in the authoritative “California Domestic Partnerships and Same-Sex Marriage’ treatise published by CEB (California Continuing Education of the Bar), entitled Special Issues Faced by Same-Sex Couples on Termination of their Relationships.
Robert has been a guest lecturer at the UCLA School of Law and a featured presenter at the annual CalCPA Family Law Conference. In 2017, he presented the program What’s Love Got to Do With it –Where Family Law and Estate Planning Meet to the Los Angeles Estate Planning Council and will be presenting the same program in 2017 to the Orange County Estate Planning Council.
He is member of the board of the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (“LACLJ”), a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section Executive Committee, and a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
