Bruce Clemens and Stephanie Barnett will be speaking at the CAL CPA Family Law Conference in Los Angeles on November 7, 2013 and in San Francisco on November 8, 2013. Lorna Riff is co-chair of the event.
Designed for CPAs, attorneys, judges and other professionals and staff who require current knowledge of family law, this annual conference will offer insights from leaders in the field about breaking developments, legislation and trends in family law disputes and dissolutions.
Bruce Clemens will be participating on a covering “Tax Strategies,” which will including a discussion of tax issues relating to family law, such as FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), explaining IRS form 8332 for the dependency credit, and how tax carryovers and credits are assigned in a divorce.
Stephanie Barnett’s panel will cover “Income for Support,” which includes defining income, pass-through income, retained and distributable income, perquisites, taxable vs. non-taxable income, control, depreciation and non cash expenses.
In addition, both Bruce and Stephanie will be part of a Q&A panel that will address “Best Practices for Case Management,” addressing topics as managing expectations, document management, case strategy, deadlines and case costs.
